Epigenetics

Personalized Health at Tru Regenerative Healthcare

At Tru Regenerative Healthcare, we take a forward-thinking approach to health by integrating genetic science with personalized care to uncover deeper insights into what affects your wellbeing. Understanding your genetic blueprint can reveal hidden risks and help us design a plan that supports both present health challenges and long-term wellness goals.

What is Epigenetics?

Epigenetics is the study of how lifestyle, environment, and internal systems influence the way your genes behave — without altering your DNA code itself. Rather than seeing genetics as fate, this field empowers you to influence how your genes are expressed, which can help reduce disease risk and improve overall health outcomes.

At our center, we use advanced genetic testing to identify genetic variations and patterns that may impact important biological processes. Combining this insight with clinical evaluation, we create personalized protocols tailored precisely to you.

How We Put Your Genetic Data to Work

Our genetic evaluations look at factors such as variations that influence nutrient metabolism, detoxification pathways, immune function, and chronic disease susceptibility. For example:

  • Certain gene variants can affect how the body processes important nutrients like folate and vitamin B12.

  • Customized nutrient protocols — like using active forms of folate — can help support metabolic and cellular functions that genetic variants may otherwise impair.

This deeper understanding gives you and your care team actionable insights instead of guesswork.

More about Epigenetics

The presence of gene mutations can be a contributing factor to the onset of cancer and other diseases. Therefore, it is important to address these mutations in order to prevent the proliferation and dissemination of abnormal cells throughout the body. By doing so, we can effectively safeguard health and well-being, while simultaneously reducing the likelihood of developing serious illnesses that can have a significant impact on our quality of life.

Lets use MTHFR gene mutation as a example. This gene misspelling can have a impact on the cobalamin molecule or better known as (B12), this is a vital co-factor that plays a crucial role in various bodily actions. This genetic misspelling also leads to folate deficiency, which can result in a range of health issues. It's essential to be aware of this risk and take measures to ensure adequate intake of both folate and B12.

MTHFR gene mutation can affect the body's ability to convert folic acid into its active form, which is essential for many bodily functions. For people with this mutation, it is recommended to use the active form of folate, which is called L-methylfolate or 5-MTHF. This form of folate is readily available for the body to use and can help improve overall health outcomes. It is important to consult with a healthcare professional that specializes in this field to determine the appropriate dosage and form of folate for a patients individual requirement. MTHFR is not the only gene that impacts the folate cycle keep that in mind. This gene is starting to be known more among medical providers but still not understood to its fullest by many medical providers. This gene has been heavily researched over the last 10yrs with outstanding evidence that proves its risk for cancer, heart disease, infertility, ADHA, autism, Central line malformations, and more. That being said there are many important variables to check before determining the dose of L-Methylfolate because of the other impactful variables that can require a patient to have more or less.

It's important to note that individuals with MTHFR mutation also have difficulty absorbing certain forms of vitamin B12. To ensure adequate intake, it's recommended to take a specific form of B12, such as methylcobalamin or hydroxocobalamin. However, it's crucial to consult with a healthcare professional because additional information is required to determine the form and dose that needs to be prescribed based on the patient's individualized requirements.

TRU is a medical clinic  that relies on data to understand the underlying causes of patients' conditions. TRU provided practical solutions to genetic misspellings that cause diseases and aim to prevent them from occurring. Our focus is on disease prevention, reversing disease, and gathering sufficient data to determine the most effective therapy for each individual patient.
